Dubnica nad Váhom, October 15, 2026 – Slovakia now has its first public charging station with a capacity of 1.2 MW. It is available through the ejoin GO network, which has also launched charging stations at 10 highway rest areas. The opening featured a live demonstration of charging a Denza Z9 GT electric car.
ejoin operator s.r.o., the operator of the ejoin GO charging network, has launched Slovakia’s first public charging station with a capacity of 1 MW. During the opening, a record charging power of up to 1,044 kW was achieved. This is the highest charging power ever achieved when charging an electric vehicle at a public charging station, at least in Europe.
RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE
A live demonstration of charging the Denza Z9 GT electric car took place at the Zlaté Piesky – Východ highway rest area (toward Žilina).
Charging began at 14 percent; within 30 seconds of starting, the charging power exceeded 1 MW, at which point the battery showed a charge level of 18 percent. A peak charging power of 1,044 kW was reached at 24 percent, exactly 1 minute after charging began. The car maintained a charging power of 1 MW until it reached 38 percent, at which point the charging time exceeded 2 minutes. The car reached a 50 percent charge after 3 minutes, at which point the charging power remained at 875 kW. The 80 percent charge was reached 6 minutes and 30 seconds after charging began. It took 11 minutes and 40 seconds to reach a 100 percent charge.

- At 92% state of charge, the charging power was 412 kW.

THE LARGEST 1 MW PUBLIC CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE
Although these charging stations are marketed as 1 MW units, their actual charging capabilities are even higher. The ejoin charging station in the public ejoin GO network offers charging power of up to 1.2 MW at a maximum current of 1,200 A. What makes this even more impressive is that such a charging station is not available at just one motorway rest stop, but at all 11 motorway rest stops equipped with charging stations across the ejoin GO network.
All other installed charging stations offer a charging capacity of up to 480 kW. List of rest areas with a charging capacity of 480 kW to 1 MW:

Drivers have access to 5 to 9 charging stations for passenger vehicles at each rest area, depending on the location. Charging stations for trucks are also available at four rest areas. These locations are already operational, with the exception of the Hybe–South rest area, where the distribution network is still being completed.
