Dubnica nad Váhom, 12th of September 2024 – The most powerful charging HUB for electric cars was officially opened in the presence of the Cybertruck and three-time world champion Peter Sagan. The first charging session at the HUB was special for Tesla electric car, with the charging power reaching up to 404 kW, setting a new world record.
On Wednesday, September 11th, a grand opening of the most powerful charging HUB for electric vehicles by the company ejoin took place at the Korzo shopping center in Bratislava. Around 200 people from 7 countries across Europe and Asia attended this special event, which featured a rich program full of interesting presentations by specialists in the field.
New world record at the ejoin charging station
Three-time world champion Peter Sagan came to help with the opening of the charging HUB, making a grand entrance in a Tesla Cybertruck. After the opening speech, the ribbon-cutting ceremony followed, attended by the CEO of ejoin, Michal Vašek, Peter Sagan, Kamil Šaško (Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic), Tomáš Kuník (E-mobility Manager at ejoin), and Martin Salamon (Sales Representative at ejoin).
The first charging session was done by Peter Sagan himself, using the Tesla Cybertruck. The battery was only at 4%, and within a few seconds, the charging power delivered by the station reached 404.9 kW, setting a new world record. At its peak, the charging current reached 554 A. The Cybertruck had never been charged with such high power before, and ejoin’s charging HUB surpassed the previous record by almost 80 kW.
The charging power was also displayed on the Tesla Cybertruck’s screen, showing a maximum value of 403 kW. The charging HUB is unique not only for its maximum power of up to 600 kW per connector but also due to the technology itself. The power unit is fully liquid-cooled, ensuring efficient and very quiet operation even under full load. Additionally, up to 12 connectors can be connected to one power unit.
The future of charging
Program for the opening of the charging HUB was accompanied by presentations from experts, starting with Patrik Križanský (Director of SEVA), who discussed about the direction of electromobility not only in Slovakia but also globally. The second presentation was dedicated to modern electric vehicle charging products from the company ejoin, presented by Martin Salamon (Sales Representative from ejoin). The morning session was concluded by Michal Šura, an expert in e-mobility and energy topics.
