During March, we covered the charging of dozens of electric cars at a press event in Tuscany. At ejoin, we really do have all the solutions for charging electric cars, as evidenced by our latest successful implementation.
In connection with the press presentation of a new electric car model, we provided a charging solution for several dozen Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV electric cars. In the substandard and challenging conditions in Tuscany, Italy, 45 electric cars were domesticated for two weeks, for which it was necessary to provide sufficient infrastructure for multiple daily charging.
The presentation and press tests of the electric car took place at two locations where it was not possible to provide enough electricity directly from the grid. Therefore, we at ejoin reached for 4 battery storage systems from Elteco Technology with a total capacity of up to 1.3 MWh, which were able to balance the high demands on the grid.

Two such storage sites were installed at each location, allowing us to support batteries with a capacity of 660 kWh. For the actual charging of the electric SUVs, our ejoin Duplo charging stations with a pair of Type-2 charging connectors were used. Each of the two sites was equipped with 24 charging stations, i.e. 48 charging points.
The batteries were connected to the mains via a 400 V connection, from which they were continuously recharged according to the available capacity at a given tapping point. During the day, the vehicles were used by journalists for their first drives around the streets of Tuscany, which was just the time when the charge of the storage was increasing.
After returning to the starting point, the vehicles connected to the charging stations and recharged their batteries with the maximum supported power of 11 kW.
The electric vehicles were parked overnight in the underground garage where more grid capacity was available. Despite this, identical battery storage facilities were located there to stabilise and ensure that all 45 vehicles were charged at full power.
The utility grid and battery storage sites supplied power together, but in the event of a utility grid failure, the batteries were ready to fully provide power for seamless charging.
In total, we provided up to 96 charging points for EV charging. Our team, together with our products, did a great job to make the professional event run as smoothly and seamlessly as possible for dozens of journalism teams from all over Europe.
